Rural Women In Action, Inc (RWIA) is a community-based organization based in Winder, Georgia that serves the needs of Rural and marginalized communities in the South. Founded by a black woman with a team of black women, RWIA started with a vision to educate and empower the residents of rural areas in order to transform the minds of those individuals and their families. Utilizing strategies and tools focusing on lived experiences and stories of resilience, RWIA adopted the mantra:

‘Information + Transformation = Empowerment.’

Vision. Building safe, healthy rural communities by transforming minds and educating through workshops and lived experiences.

Mission. To provide education, training, and resources to enrich the lives an well-being of men, women, and their surrounding families impacted with HIV/AIDS and other infectious diseases.

Service Philosophy. To provide tools and resources that will strengthen the lives of all people so families can live productive and empowered lives in society.

With the many issues that impact the rural communities, Rural Women In Action focuses on these four pillars:

  • HIV/AIDS & Hepatitis C

  • Reoccurring Substance Abuse

  • Mental Health & Trauma

  • Domestic Violence

Rural Women In Action knows that sometimes all it takes to change the world is a little support. Since our founding we have been determined to make an impact. The core of our efforts is to bring our team’s fresh ideas and passion to the range of activities we are involved in. Through all our endeavors we hope to display the conviction behind our beliefs.

Any forms of donations are greatly appreciated, as our combined efforts to serve the school-aged disadvantaged children and disadvantaged elderly in the rural communities have significantly increased over the years.  All donations either monetary or goods received are tax deductible under IRS 501(C)(3) federal guidelines. Also, we can supply your company/organization with a copy of our tax-exemption certificate upon request.
