Rural Women IN ACTION!

Rural Women in Action is working diligently to unmask the stigma related to HIV by improving access to quality healthcare and changing the public’s perception of HIV/AIDS in the south.

Through the Black Excellence Conference that RWIA created and is held yearly, Rural Women In Action uses that platform to bring together strong local leaders for advocacy focusing on the vulnerabilities that exposes people to HIV and Hepatitis C, Reoccurring Substance Abuse Disorder, Trauma and Mental Health, Domestic Violence and Reproductive Justice.

By focusing on these vulnerabilities that affect not only affect Black women and young girls of color, but men as well, RWIA provides resources, creates safe spaces, zoom and in person conversations where anyone with disparities and/or determinates of health can share and be transparent with their issues and concern. RWIA also provides effective Behavioral Intervention addressing whole health through the curriculum Whole Health Action Management (WHAM).
